Dr. Rafikh Shaikh
Teaching Faculty, Senior Research Coordinator, Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai
He teaches courses in the area of science education and cognition. He has a Master’s degree in Microbiology and a PhD in Science Education. His research interests include education technology, computer supported collaborative learning and frugal tools for science education. Rafikh has been involved in various science outreach programs and has received the Foldscope Fellowship from the Foldscope Instrument-Stanford University for his outreach work. He is also a recipient of Earth Watch fellowship and Swachhata Sarathi fellowship.
Ms. Sohini Sen
Senior Manager, Teacher Professional Development, Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education, TISS.
Sohini has worked in the field of education technology for over 13 years. At TISS, she has been part of large-scale field action projects, including the Integrated Approach to Technology in Education, and is currently part of the TELTA-21 (Technology Enabled Learning for Teachers and Adolescents for the 21st Century) project. She has nearly nine years of experience in teacher professional development (TPD), with a focus on the constructive use of technology in education. She has also managed large-scale TPD initiatives in collaboration with The Open University (UK) and UNICEF India, including MOOC-based courses for over 6,000 teachers and educators. She has been co-teaching in B.Ed+M.Ed, MA Education (Elementary) and MA Education and Technology programmes.Her interests lie in research on TPD, and she has contributed to publications and conferences in this area.
Mr. Raoson Singh
Technical & Programme Specialist; Project Manager(TELTA-21), CETE, TISS
Raoson is a techno-pedagogist with a strong technical background and a deep interest in exploring science through nature and everyday life. His work focuses on project- and problem-based learning, where learners investigate real-world challenges, observe natural phenomena, and develop practical solutions through hands-on exploration. With experience in STEM pedagogy, robotics, IoT, and educational technology, he designs engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, observation, experimentation, and critical thinking while connecting scientific concepts with real-life contexts. Since 2016, he has been associated with CETE, TISS, contributing to initiatives such as the ITE project, co-teaching in MAEE and B.Ed.–M.Ed. programmes, and currently managing TELTA-21, a large-scale field action project that works with schools and educators to strengthen technology-enabled teaching and learning
Ms. Durba Sarkar
Research & Partnership Manager, CETE, TISS
Durba has over 14 years of experience in the education sector, with a focus on education technology and teacher professional development (TPD). At TELTA-21, she is part of the Teacher Professional Development team and supports course delivery and TPD implementation. She has been a teaching assistant in MA Education (Elementary) and MA Education and Technology programmes. She has been part of projects implementing MOOC-based courses for teachers and educators at scale, and has contributed to research publications on teacher professional development.
