About This Course

In the field of education, action research is a process of inquiry by you as a practitioner to improve your teaching and thereby your students’ learning. Areas of focus in action research are around pedagogic strategies, learning environment and knowledge. For example, a school can decide to change the timetable structure, and headteachers can study the impact of such strategic changes. In any classroom-based research, teachers can explore the effect on the learning environment when she/he makes pedagogical changes. For example, if you, as a teacher, start using smart boards to teach your students. While introducing new pedagogical approaches, content or resources, teachers can also study how one’s knowledge has developed or study improvements in students' learning outcomes.
